by Central Texas GCD | Jan 28, 2026

The Central Texas Groundwater Conservation District (District) has adopted new rules for the creation of the Northeast Burnet County Trinity Aquifer Management Zone following a deliberate and well documented public process. This work included multiple publicly noticed meetings, a stakeholder committee, and opportunities for written and verbal public comment. The District also held a well-attended public rule making hearing on January 23, 2026, where it received important feedback and adjusted the proposed rules accordingly. The rules became effective on January 23, 2026. Materials from the entire process, including summaries and technical resources, are available on our website.
